Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Police have reported the killing of five extremists during an encounter in the Jumgarh area near the Line of Control in Kupwara. The police, in a tweet late on Thursday night, stated that the joint team of army and police engaged in the operation after receiving information about the presence of extremists in the region.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu and Kashmir Police, confirmed in a subsequent tweet on Friday morning that the encounter was still ongoing, with five foreign extremists neutralized so far. The combing operation in the area is currently in progress.
