Jogindernagar(Rajesh Sharma): Following a recent incident in Chaupal, another case of molestation has emerged in a government school in Ladbhadol, Jogindernagar. The allegations are against the head teacher, who has been arrested and suspended. The victims are girl students from the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades.
DSP Padhar Dinesh Kumar confirmed the case, stating that the allegations have been made against the head teacher. Based on the complaints from the parents of the victim girls, the police registered a case under the POCSO Act. The head teacher has been taken into custody, and the police have begun thorough interrogation. The statements of the victim girls will be recorded in court, and the head teacher will be presented in court for police remand.
The head teacher had been at the school since December 2021 and reportedly began molesting the minor students in 2023. The parents were unaware of the abuse, and the girls, fearing repercussions, did not initially disclose their ordeal. The crime was exposed when the District Child Protection Department received a complaint via the Child Line helpline. The department raided the school, recorded statements from the victims and their parents, and handed over the information to the police for further action.
According to the police and the Child Line department, the accused head teacher molested two students from the fourth and fifth grades and two sixth-grade students multiple times. The police are now investigating whether there are more victims, as the accused has previously served in various areas within the Mandi district, including Balh, Gohar, and Jajhaali. The head teacher’s wife, also a government school teacher, adds another layer to the investigation.
