Jogindernagar, Himachal Pradesh :In a remarkable medical endeavor, a team of expert surgeons from Himachal Pradesh collaborated with skilled doctors from New York and Kerala to successfully perform critical surgeries on 11 patients in just three hours. This remarkable feat took place at a Rotary International health camp held in Jogindernagar, marking the first time such a collaboration has occurred.

The surgeries were conducted at the Civil Hospital Jogendranagar, where a team of medical specialists led by plastic surgeon Dr. John Oman from New York and Dr. Anama from Kerala joined hands with Dr. George Vargish, Dr. Sonal Bathla, Dr. Benjamin from Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, and surgeon specialist Dr. Abhinav from the local hospital. Together, they played a vital role in the successful operations.

Major surgeries were performed on patients suffering from conditions such as stones, fibroids, and uterine issues. The surgeries commenced at 11 am on Thursday and continued until 2 pm under the watchful eye of Rotary Club President Dr. NR Barwal. Rotarian Major Gyan Chand Barwal, Ajay Thakur, Ram Lal Walia, Amar Singh Jaswal, Colonel Naresh Kumar Sharma, and dedicated health workers Dilip Singh, Harish Kumar, staff nurses Somlata, Priyanka, Priya, Dimple, and Mamta also played instrumental roles in the multinational surgical efforts.

Dr. Roshan Lal Kondal, SMO of the hospital, commended the collaboration between local doctors and their counterparts from around the country and abroad. Rotary Club President NR Barwal announced that major operations for 13 more patients were scheduled for the following day under the supervision of these expert doctors, and patients would receive necessary medications as part of the treatment process. This collaborative medical initiative demonstrates the power of teamwork and expertise in providing critical healthcare services to those in need, showcasing the remarkable dedication and commitment of healthcare professionals in Himachal Pradesh and beyond.
