Barotiwala/ Baddi: In a major operation conducted by the Excise team in Baddi, a significant haul of illicit liquor meant for sale in Haryana was intercepted and confiscated. The team successfully seized 26 cases of various alcoholic beverages loaded onto a Bolero camper at Barotiwala, near the truck union. The swift action by the Excise team prevented the illegal liquor from reaching its intended destination.
The driver of the Bolero camper managed to escape the scene, leaving the vehicle and the confiscated liquor behind.
All the seized liquor was intended for sale in Haryana. The Excise team promptly registered an FIR under the HP Excise Act at Barotiwala Police Station, ensuring that legal action is taken against those involved in the illicit trade of alcohol.
The vehicle, along with the confiscated liquor, was handed over to the police with proper possession and sapurdari memos. The Excise team, comprising of Preetpal Singh, Deputy Commissioner of State Taxes and Excise in BBN, Prem Kaith (Assistant Commissioner), Suresh Thakur (Assistant Commissioner), Vijay Kumar (Assistant State Taxes and Excise Officer), and Sandeep Chand, displayed commendable coordination and efficiency during the operation.
This significant seizure serves as a stern warning to those involved in the illegal liquor trade, demonstrating the government’s commitment to curbing such activities and maintaining law and order. The Excise team’s relentless efforts to crack down on illicit liquor trade continue, ensuring the safety and well-being of the public.
